Also, find out what's happening with chef Tre Wilcox....
Tre Wilcox became a household name for foodies across the country after a stint on Bravo's Top Chef season 3 and the 2007 Holiday Cooking Challenge (where he made it to the finals but got burned again...NUTS!). And while he didn't win the competition enchilada (blast that bread pudding!!), he was certainly seen as a tasty reality television morsel. So what's cookin' in his world? You gotta watch 03.09's YST episode to find out. (Oh...and some time in the near future, you can see his bulging biceps over the burners as he makes things hot in the kitchen just for little ol' me.) ...I've introduced Cutta C at a couple area concerts but never really paid too much attention to his performances (maybe I should have). But his name -- and his entourage-- was always stuck in my dome. I had dinner at Stephen Pyles restaurant in Downtown Dallas last night. The food, service and ambiance were outstanding as usual. Here's where it gets interesting, the matri'd convinced us to try the Pina Diablo cocktail. The name says it all. It's a mix of several rums, pineapple chunks, cinnamon, sugar and serrano chile peppers. The drink has a dark spicy flavor and the kick of a mule. Wow! We'll definitely be back for more. ... |
